Terms and Conditions

PRIVACY POLICY

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

We collect information about you for two reasons - to process your order and to provide you with the best possible service.

We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent.

We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing e-mail from us.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

  • your name and address

  • telephone number

  • e-mail address

  • credit/debit card details


    • We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

    The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

    The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.

    We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a 'cookie' which would be stored on your browser.


    GENERAL

    All orders accepted by us are subject to these terms and conditions of sale.

    All descriptions and illustrations contained in this website are only intended to give a general idea of the product, specifications may vary slightly.

    Whilst the prices and information given on this website are checked to the best of our ability, no responsibility can be taken for errors and omissions. We reserve the right to alter prices and specifications without notice. We will do our best to inform you of any changes affecting your order.


    DELIVERY

    We always try to despatch orders as quickly as we can (usually within 3 working days of receipt - or less), but please allow up to 10 days for delivery. If there are any items out of stock we will contact you and inform you of the likely delivery time.


    DELIVERY CHARGES

    Our delivery charge for outdoor equipment is £3.50 regardless of size of order.   For Peak District Binoculars products our charges are as follows:- £3.50 for Monoculars, £5.00 for Binoculars, and £10.00 for Telescopes and Tripods.  Telescopes and tripods will be delivered by ParcelForce which will take up to 5 business days.   For next day delivery on telescopes or tripods £20.00.   For more expensive items this will include insurance.

    Please note that deliveries will require a signature upon receipt. 

    RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS

    At The Old Barn we want you to be satisfied with our service, therfore we try to make our returns policy as straightforward as we can.

    If you wish to return an item for any reason, you may do so at any time up to 14 days from the receipt of the goods.

    To return a non-faulty item the product must be in its original condition with the original labels attached and the invoice.

    Once an item has been worn or used we will be unable to refund or exchange unless the item is found by the manufacturer to have a fault.

    Please include the following information:-
    - the reason for the return,
    - original invoice/receipt,
    - and ensure the package is wrapped securely.

    For your protection, we recommend that you send your package by recorded delivery as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in the post.

    Where a refund is required we will return your money within 30 days.

    We will refund your postage costs if the item is faulty or there is an error in the delivery.

    These statements do not affect your statutory rights.

    PAYMENT

    We are able to accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo, Delta, Electron, JCB credit/debit cards, but if you prefer to place your order by post or telephone we are happy for you to contact us on 01433 620999 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm.
