Company HistoryThe Old Barn is a long established, family run outdoor clothing and gift shop. The owners, who are experienced hill walkers and outdoor enthusiasts, pride themselves on their high level of personal service.The shop is situated in the attractive old Market Place underneath Peveril Castle in the historic Peak District village of Castleton. The surrounding countryside is famed for its beauty and the variety of the walking and outdoor pursuits which are available. We are situated only 15 miles south west of Sheffield and 20 miles south east of Manchester. Castleton is truly the ideal base for a country holiday or a day trip. As well as outdoor clothing and equipment, we also have a giftware section selling souvenirs and gifts for all the family and for all occasions, including Border Fine Arts, Yankee Candles, Russ Berrie, Heartfelt Collectibles and many more! SHOP HOURS Because we are in a tourist area our hours are seasonal. During the period between Easter and the end of the October half term holiday we are open 7 days a week (9.30 am - 5.00 pm). From November through to Easter we are always open on Saturday and Sunday but our hours of shop opening during the week will be variable - if you are making a special journey please telephone first to make sure the shop is open - 01433 620999.
